RTI
In the latest RTI response , the response from authorities is that it will take not before 2017 , then on what basis people are giving date of 2013

Reply: That RTI response has been verbally clarified and we are waiting a written reply by way of frsh RTI which should take around 2 months. only then it would end all confusion. The person who got the 2017 reply is infact a part of our core team. he just rushed breaking the news without clarifying properly. an estimate was prepared by huda for 2017 which was later revised by chandigarh office to 2013. infact the replies for 2013 schedule clearly uses the word REVISED which is missing in 2017 reply. Now till the RTI clarification is received, all are requested to wait and relax rather than creating confusion and panic. Even the 2013 news was first announced on this very forum. we are a responsible company and would not like any news 2013 or 2017 to be established without checking and verifying all aspects.

After going through various RTI responses a need was felt to organise ourselves.

(RTI responses available at http://www.indiaspaces.com/postblog.aspx?qid=116)

Following up for the infrastructure development real issues in the area is the basic agenda.

A few like minded people offered themselves for the cause and the first such meeting took place.

Minutes of the first meeting 6th feb 2010 at Crown Plaza Mall, Faridabad.

1. It was attended by 15 people representing atleast 8 different projects.

2. Various RTI responses were discussed particularly the one which talks of development by 2013.

3. The goal is to ensure that schedule does not stretch beyond 2013 but also to see how it could be improved.

4. Various key areas and departments were identified and responsibilities allocated for followup with these.

5. The group would be meeting once in a month to start with but with keep connected through online forums.

6. Formation of an association would be initiated and appropriate registration would be obtained.

Dear Jeetuji, Did we got any update on Farmers meeting in Huda Office on 27/Aug. Based on some posts on website, it seems we should be having some clarity on land acquisition by HUDA in Nehar Par Area. Unless farmers agree, things can not move further. BPTP stakes are too high in that area and their MD's statement can be just a comfort remark based on their relation in HUDA as every builder having big stakes do take up things with govt authorities at their level. But unless we get anything formal news on farmers acception compensation, figures are crossed. I agree, we should not do something with makes it a media/political issue.

Reply: it is not an easy road. as per media reports the strike is gonna be longer. some customer groups are not understanding that their counter protests may only add fuel to fire. They may gain nothing except some media coverages. and the extent upto which farmers can go, I doubt the middle class customers can compete that. it is better to be patient or too go legal.

farmers threaten strike
Posted by RajaRC 30 Aug 2010

Faridabad farmers threaten strike Prabhu Razdan, Hindustan Times Faridabad, August 29, 2010 First Published: 22:56 IST(29/8/2010) Last Updated: 22:58 IST(29/8/2010) http://www.hindustantimes.com/Faridabad-farmers-threaten-strike/Article1-593500.aspx The development of Greater Faridabad is likely to hit a roadblock once again as farmers, whose land was being used for laying of roads and sewer lines, have threatened to begin a hunger strike from Monday in support of their demand for more compensation for their land. The decision followed soon after Arvind Malhan, Estates Officer, Haryana Urban Development Authority (HUDA), Faridabad, announced new rates for land to be acquired in Nehar Par. The new rates per acre were awarded at Rs 42 lakh, which could go up to about Rs 64.86 lakh (including other costs). In April 2009, the state government had offered the farmers of Nehar Par about Rs 24 lakh per acre, which farmers rejected outright and launched protests against what they alleged was low compensation. The farmers had met Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda also in this connection then. Hooda had then ordered revision of the compensation package. However, when officials awarded the fresh compensation, revising it upwards (about Rs 64.86 lakh per acre, including all costs), farmers were up in arms again, demanding compensation at market rate. It may be mentioned that HUDA officials had recently told HT, "We have refused the new compensation package as we want nothing less than the market rate, which is about Rs 2 crore per acre," Satpal Narwat, Convenor of Kisaan Sangarsh Samiti said, adding, "Farmers will go on a rally hunger strike from Monday." "The government has increased the compensation by almost three times," Praveen Kumar, Deputy Commissioner, Faridabad told Hindustan Times, "There is a limit to everything and the farmers should accept the fresh compensation." The development of Greater Faridabad has been delayed due to delay in the settlement of compensation to farmers. The villagers of nineteen villages are against the state government’s decision to acquire their land for development for newly carved sectors in Greater Faridabad. The land was to be acquired in villages Kherikalla, Batola, Chotikheri, Faridpur, Fajupur, Neemka, Mirzapur, Badoli, Prehladpur, Budena.

I think this is the standard process that happens between farmers and HUDA whenever HUDA tries to acqure land. See link below of a 2008 news about land acquisition for IMT faridabad... http://www.hindustantimes.com/Farmers-protest-land-acquisition-in-Faridabad/Article1-324268.aspx

Reply: Thanks for the update. it happens all over the country. and in most cases goes upto court where revised compensation is awareded.

HUDA

I agree with Rohit Singh, if Farmers can protest so do I, HUDA sld notified the new sectors in faridabad after aquiring the land.

Reply: please go ahead. Are you still in other part of the country or live near NCR. would you be personally attending such protests or would it be something online only. HUDA never gave any timeframe nor sold any land. Developers bought directly from farmers and got CLU and licenses. lastly if people like you are too serious, then better idea would be to knock the courts. if a court directs HUDA, they may or may not still do things (land acquistion problem etc), but they would file an actual action taken report in courts.

The award for land acquisition would be declared on 27th August, 2010 in 2 phases at Sector 12 Huda Office, Faridabad. Half of the villages(Baselwa, Mawayi, Palwali, Tikawali, Riwazpur, Badshahpur, Faridabad, Budhena, Faizpur, Faridpur and Neemka) will be covered in the first phase at 11:00 AM and rest of the vilages(Bhatola, Baddoli, Khediklaan, Khedikhurd, Bhupani, Wazirpur, Prahlaadpur and Mirzapur) will be covered at 3:00 PM. All land owners have been requested to be present during this time. The award declaration activity will be carried out by Huda Officer Arvind Singh Malhaan. This news has been captured from Dainik Bhaskar Faridabad, Dated 26th August 2010 (pg#10).

Reply: Thanks for the update. I would suggest we should file an RTI also in this regards to check the actual status of this 27th Aug development.

Neharpar Land Acquisition

I am too a investor in Greater FBD. I think we should be a little more patient because if this issue gets politicised like the recent Agra-Mathura-Aligarh case, jhajjar SEZ case or Tata Nandigram case, and reaches a permanent deadlock, then it is only we who are going to be the worst hit and no one else. Also revision of compensation from 16 Lakhs to 42 Lakhs shows that HUDA is working to solve this issue and not just sitting idle, and like for every other government department process this is a thing that might take some time to resolve.

Reply: In last 2 days, acquistion of land has become a national issue. Rahul Gandhi is talking about a national policy for the same. If that happens the acquistion process may get delayed further waiting for same. However i was at BPTP Arena launch yesterday where Mr. Kabul Chawla, MD, BPTP announced that work on sector roads would begin in 2010 itself. he was trying to indicate that the sector roads across parklands may be developed on the lines of the bridge. No details though.
