4 more Metro trains added to Dwarka line

NewDelhi: Metro commuters canfinally expect some relief from the dense crush load conditions in trains,especially on line 3 (Dwarka sector 9 to Noida and Anand Vihar). DMRC has addedfour more trains to the line bringing down the peak hour frequency to 3.30minutes on the line now.
 
With this, the total number of trains on the line havebeen increased to 45 now from just 14 when the Anand Vihar Metro line wasopened. The number of train trips have been increased to 1512, an extra 87trips, of which 532 are on Line 3.

The corporation has also changed movement of people atRajiv Chowk Metro station to improve flow and prevent stampede like situation.Some escalators and staircases are being used exclusively to go up and othersto climb down to line 2 platform. ‘‘The system was being tried out for the lasttwo months and has now been made permanent. It will be extended to otherinterchange Metro stations like Central Secretariat before the Gurgaon lineopens,’’ said a DMRC spokesperson. TNN
